You've been working hard to create a good working culture in your organisation but you don't feel like
your team is reaching its potential?

They're stuck in a rut and no matter how hard you
try, your colleagues just don't gel the way they should. Maybe there's too much tension or people
are holding back because they're afraid of making mistakes or are worried about being judged or ridiculed.

It can be tough to create a psychologically safe environment where everyone feels comfortable taking risks and speaking up, yet we know that
feeling safe is essential for creativity, well-being
and productivity.

Becoming a 'Fearless Organisation'.

It's been more than 20 years since Harvard University Professor Amy Edmondson first published her research on psychological safety. Since then, she has developed a simple scan that allows teams and it's members to understand their level of psychological safety within their teams/organisation. This is Milk is now accredited to deliver this service.

The survey takes minutes to complete, the output is an anonymous Psychological Safety Index score for both the team and the individual, demonstrating where individual team members sit within the overall team score.

“Psychological safety means an absence of interpersonal fear. When psychological safety is present, people can speak up with work-relevant content.”

What we will do

It's been more than 20 years since Harvard University Professor Amy Edmondson first published her research on psychological safety. Since then, she has developed a simple scan that allows teams and it's members to understand their level of psychological safety within their teams/organisation. This is Milk is now accredited to deliver this service. The survey takes minutes to complete, the output is an anonymous Psychological Safety Index score for both the team and the individual, demonstrating where individual team members sit within the overall team score.

We offer two Psychological Indexing Services:

Option 1 - PSI Scan
Team members complete the PSI Scan, which generates an anonymous report to be discussed within your team or organisation.

Option 2 - PSI Scan and debrief
This option includes the anonymous report and a facilitated debrief by one of our accredited facilitators, providing more insights on the four areas of psychological safety mentioned above. This will include in:
  • Briefing with the team manager
  • Introduction to PSI with the team
  • A debrief and team discussing
  • Individual Reports for the team

By understanding the level of psychological safety in these 4 areas, organisations can better gauge how well a team will work and learn together over time. By focusing on improving your team's psychological safety, you will significantly increase the likelihood of creating high-performing teams.

Within the team score, the report highlights four areas of Psychological Safety.

Inclusion and diversity
People speak up when they feel included and their contributions valued.

Willingness to help
People are more willing to help when they feel appreciated and when offers of help are reciprocated.

Attitude to risk and failure
Holding mistakes against team members can erode the things that bind a team and derail progress on a project or arriving at solutions to a problem.

Open conversations
Candid conversions are valuable in a team context and can help teams tackle complex issues or problems.
